Elephant Shop at Friends House, 17310 Quaker Lane in Sandy Spring, will hold its Summer Clearance Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 31, featuring second-hand furniture, housewares and clothing marked down.  All proceeds support Friends House Seniors Association. No credit cards, cash preferred. Regular thrift shop hours after Labor Day are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Follow the “Elephant” signs at Friends House.
