Sandy Spring Museum Garden Club will hold a discussion, “The Fall and Rise of the American Chestnut,” 2-4 p.m. at the museum, 17901 Bentley Road at Olney-Sandy Spring Road. Learn about the history of chestnut trees in the U.S. and their role in the prosperity of the country, and learn what has contributed to their demise and how to help. Speaker Jeffrey White has 30 years of experience as an environmental scientist. Light refreshments served. Plant sale will be held. Admission free for Garden Club members; $10 for non-members.
