Program and reception to launch a local history project will be held 7-9 p.m. at Sandy Spring Museum, 17901 Bentley Road. Local historians Leonard Becraft and Rip Rice prepared “chapters” relating to the history of the Sandy Spring area. Before their deaths in 2015, the pair researched and wrote about people, places and events that figure prominently in the local history, in collaboration with Delmas Wood. Program will feature storytelling about the subjects of the first several booklets. Free. Go to www.sandyspringmuseum.org.
