Tikvat Israel Congregation, at 2200 Baltimore Road, Rockville, will show the contemporary Israeli film “Redemption” at 7:45 p.m. Film is the story of Menachem, a former front man for a rock band, who becomes religious and is the father of a 6-year-old girl. When his daughter is diagnosed with cancer, he must find a creative solution to fund the expensive treatments, so he reunites his band for one last tour. Admission is $12 for synagogue members, $15 for non-members; students with ID are $5. Film will be followed by a dessert reception and conversation moderated by Lisa LeBourgeois, cultural affairs officer with the Israel Embassy in Washington.
