Laura Giannola weds Alex Spitzel

Alex Spitzel and Laura Giannola were married on Oct. 9, 2016, at the River Creek Club in Leesburg, Va. The couple honeymooned in San Francisco and Vancouver. The bride is the daughter of Rich and Joann Giannola of Olney. She was born in Silver Spring, grew up in Olney, and attended Olney Elementary, Rosa Parks Middle School and Sherwood High School. She graduated from Ithaca College in 2012 with a degree in sport management. She is a marketing manager in the corporate offices of Carr Workplaces. The bridegroom is the son of Gary and Sheila Spitzel of Chantilly, Va. He was born in Pittsburgh, grew up in Chantilly and attended Chantilly High School. He graduated from George Mason University in 2011 with a degree in sport management. He is an account manager for Kastle Systems. The couple met in 2012 while they were working for the Washington Nationals. They reside in Alexandria, Va., with their dog Moose.
