Del. Eric G. Luedtke is the latest member of the District 14 delegation to be appointed to a leadership role in the legislature.
On Jan. 23, Maryland House Speaker Michael E. Busch (D) appointed Luedtke, of Burtonsville, as chairman of the House Education Subcommittee.
“I’m excited and honored to have been appointed to chair the House Education Subcommittee,” Luedtke (D) said. “I can imagine no more important time to work to create opportunity for every Maryland kid. There’s a lot of work to be done, but my immediate priorities are to get a grip on the overuse of standardized testing, strengthen the role of families in the special education process, and find ways to ensure that teachers have adequate time to focus on the classroom.”Luedtke has been a member of House of Delegates since 2011 and spent 10 years as a teacher for Montgomery County Public Schools.
